You are invited to our upcoming public events!

Join Secret Garden Birds and Bees - and our 4 live owls - at the Walker Nature Center for this year's Owl Prowl. You'll meet our barred owl, Scarlett, great horned owl, Hodor, screech owl, Kvosir, and barn owl, Phantom. They will help us tell you all about the owls living right in your Reston neighborhood and throughout our region. We'll even give you hints on how to find them!

After the talk, you can join a Naturalist from the Center on a walk along the trails to try to find an owl in the wild. In 2022, during the talk, we played a barred owl call and a wild owl responded. Then our barred owl, Scarlett, called back. That started a chorus of barred owl calls from all directions that continued for an hour. There are definitely owls - at least barred owls - to be found around the Walker Nature Center!

THIS EVENT IS HOSTED BY THE WALKER NATURE CENTER. TICKETS ARE REQUIRED and sell out fast. For more information, contact the Nature Center at (703) 476-9689. To buy tickets, go to Walker Nature Center and click on "Event".

Join Secret Garden Birds and Bees and our live hawks, owls, and tiny falcon to learn about the essential role these beautiful birds of prey play in a healthy ecosystem, how they are adapting to our increasingly human world, and the need to restore and preserve their natural habitat so they can continue to thrive - they really are very good neighbors.

This family program is hosted by Loudoun County PRCS and is open to the public. Check back for more details as we get closer to the event.

You might even get to take a selfie with your favorite owl!
